Micro Division

Andronico’s Purple Platypus vs. Andronico’s Purple Platypus (Plus 2 Jane Hammond Events Blue Bunny Sox)

Memorial Day weekend brought spotty attendance for the Micro league except for the Andronico’s Purple Platypus team, which showed up in force. Not one Autumn Press Pink Pirate appeared, to the chagrin of some Pirate coaches on the field. The Pink coaches eventually went home. Under the circumstances, all players were divided into two sides to field one game, instead of the usual three games. The first big play of the day was by Olivia Titterton who caught a hit down the third base line and got the runner out at third. Blue Bunny Sox Zoe Exter had a great hit into center field, making it safely to first base. Batters Helen Stephens, Willa Gibson, Sophia Merish-Rose, and Ella Foskett hit a series of singles that loaded the bases and brought many runners in. Madison Heath hit a pop fly that nobody in the field could touch.

Awesome fielding by Tess Flinchbaugh to Eliza Fosket-Hydes at first base nearly got a runner out. In more examples of solid fielding, Charlotte Mathews got a runner out at third base and Blue Bunny Sox Eve Worley showed great hustle. In an excellent play at first, Blue Bunny Sox Zoe Exter got the ball to Lilah Horowitz just in time to get the runner out.
